Semolina/suji: 40 gm
Unfalvoured whey protein: 25 gm
Oil: 5 gm
Carrot: 20 gm
Peas: 20 gm
Chana dal: 20 gm
Curry leaves: 6
Black mustard seeds: A pinch
Salt: As per taste
Turmeric: A pinch(optional)
Water: 150 ml
Dry roast suji in a pan for to minutes and transfer it to a plate and keep it aside.
In the same pan add oil. As the oil turns hot, add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
As the seeds start popping, add dal. Cook it for a minute and add all the vegetables. Keep stirring it frequently.
Now add salt and turmeric. When vegetables become slightly tender, add water.
Bring it to a rolling boil and put the flame on low.
At this stage, start adding suji and whey in small batches. Keep it stirring to avoid lumps.
When the water is absorbed, cover the pan with a lid.
Remove the lid after minutes and stir it on high flame for a minute.
Switch off the flame. High Protein Upma is ready to be served with sauce or chutney of your choice.
