1tsp cumin seeds
2 tsp black pepper crushed
Little ginger chopped
1 green chilly
Few curry leaves
Pinch of asafoetida (hing)
30gms moong dal (uncooked)
30gms rice (uncooked)
In a pressure cooker add moong dal and rice
Add one cup water and little ghee
Pressure cook for whistles on medium flame
In a Pan add pressure cooked dal and rice , . cup water and salt as per taste
Stir until water is absorbed
Cover and keep aside till you prepare your tempering
To prepare tempering heat the remaining ghee add cumin , pepper , chilli , ginger , Hing and curry leaves
Pour it over dal and rice mixture and mix gently
Finally Pongal is ready and you can serve it with a spoon of Coconut chutney (adjust the macros in plan of course )
