Ingredients

Moong dal, unsoaked: 100 gm

Carrot: 30 gm

Peas: 30 gm

Beans: 30gm

Oil: 5 ml

Mustard seeds: 2 gm

Curry leaves: 7-8

Eno: 5 gm

Salt: As per taste

Water: As required

Method

Step 1

Take soaked moong dal and grind it in a grinder using little water until the batter achieves a thick consistency.

Step 2

Take a pan and heat oil in it. Add mustard seeds. As the seeds start popping, add all the chopped vegetables, curry leaves and salt. Sautue it for two minutes and keep it aside.

Step 3

Meanwhile, heat a steamer.

Step 4

Now combine batter and vegetables together in a mixing bowl. Add more salt if required. Add eno to the batter and mix it well.

Step 5

Grease the idli moulds with a few drops of oil and pour the batter into the moulds.

Step 6

Now place the moulds into the steamer and close the lid.

Step 7

Steam for minutes on a high-medium flame and turn off the flame.

Step 8

Let it cool down for five minutes and remove idlis from the mould with a knife or spoon.

Step 9

Idlis are ready to be served with sambhar or chutney.
