60g rice 20g whole masoor (soaked for 30 mins)
Chopped veggies: cabbage, carrot, capsicum, mint leaves, coriander
10 gram oil Whole spices (khade masale) 1/2 tsp cumin seeds 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1 tbsp garlic-ginger paste A pinch of asafoetida 1 tsp biryani masala 1 tsp kanda lasoon masala 1/4 tsp turmeric powder Salt to taste
Rinse the rice well and set aside.
In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add whole spices, cumin, and mustard seeds.
Add garlic-ginger paste, hing, and chopped veggies. Add salt and sauté until veggies soften.
Stir in biryani masala, kanda lasoon masala, and turmeric.
Add the soaked masoor, rice, and enough water. Top with coriander and mint leaves, then pressure cook for - whistles.
Serve with cucumber raita. (Grated or chopped cucumber +curd+ chaat masala)
