Smith Machine Barbell Shrugs target the traps (trapezius muscles). Stand with feet shoulder width apart. Unrack the smith bar with the weights and hold the bar with extended arms using an overhand grip.
Now, exhale and raise your shoulders slowly without altering the position of the elbow or arms which should remain straight at all times
Squeeze your traps
Then, inhale and slowly lower the shoulders to the starting position
Repeat for the desired number of reps.
