Preparation

This asana strengthens the back muscles, helps in weight loss, it's good for the nervous system as it increases the blood supply. It also helps in backbone flexibility and relieves menstrual problems in women. Let's check it out.

Method

Step 1

Stand straight with your feet together and arms alongside your body such that your weight is equal on both feet

Step 2

Inhale and extend your arms over your head

Step 3

Exhale and bend forward towards the feet and rest your hands under your feet

Step 4

The legs and spine should remain erect

Step 5

Stay in this position as long as you can comfortably while breathing deeply

Step 6

Inhale slowly & come back to the standing position with your arms overhead

Step 7

Bring your hands down while exhaling

Step 8

Precautions: People suffering from lower back injury, cervical or any kind of back pain should avoid this pose.
