Preparation

This pose helps in loosening and relaxing the spinal vertebrae, massaging the abdomen and the digestive organs. It's a perfect pose for removing wind and constipation, increasing blood circulation in abdominal organs and improving digestion. Let's check the steps: Lie down on your back with your hands beside the hips, palms facing downwards. This is the starting position.

Method

Step 1

Inhale, raise both legs up to 90 degrees

Step 2

Exhale, place both the knees on your chest

Step 3

Grab hold of the knees by folding your arms over the shins

Step 4

Inhale, raise your head up and place your chin in between your knees

Step 5

Hold the pose for 5 breaths

Step 6

Exhale, release the head on the floor

Step 7

Inhale, straighten the knees and raise both the legs up to 90 degrees

Step 8

Exhale, release both legs down on the floor and come to the starting position

Step 9

Precautions: People with high blood pressure or serious back problems like sciatica, piles, hernia or slipped disc or those after recent abdominal surgery should not practice this posture.
