Exercises for external shoulder rotation work the muscles in the back of your shoulder and upper back. Stand beside a cable machine. The cable handle should be of the same height as your elbow For external rotation, bend the arm that's away from the machine into 90 degrees and hold the cable.
Now, by keeping the elbow and hand close to your body, inhale and move your forearm and pull the cable out and away from the body
Exhale and bring the cable handle back to the starting position
For internal rotation, bend the arm that's closer to the machine into 90 degrees and hold the cable
This time, the hand should be away from the body
This is the starting position
Now, by keeping the elbow close to your body, inhale and move your forearm and pull the cable in and closer to your body
Exhale and bring the cable handle back to the starting position
Repeat for the desired number of reps.
