Preparation

This pose is very effective for people suffering from slipped disc, sciatica and certain types of lower back pain. Best for people having a sedentary desk job. Staying in this asana for extended periods of time encourages the vertebral column to resume its normal shape and releases compression of the spinal nerves. Let's look at the steps.

Method

Step 1

Lie down flat on the stomach

Step 2

Spread your legs slightly with your feet pointing outwards

Step 3

Bring your hands just above the head and fold your arms

Step 4

Tilt your head to the side and lie down in this pose to relax your back

Step 5

Precautions: People with back conditions such as exaggerated lumbar curve, should not practise this posture if any pain is experienced

Step 6

It is a relaxation pose

Step 7
