Sometimes you feel something is impossible until someone shows you how to break it in pieces and makes it possible for you. All you have to do is take baby steps and follow the directions. For me, my lazy (and busy) lifestyle was my comfort zone. My wife joined Fittr with Jasmine as her coach and lost weight — that pushed me to take the first step, though with a somewhat negative mindset: “ki kuch hoga nai but try karte hai.” In my first meeting with Jasmine, I told her I wouldn’t quit smoking or tea, I’d need snacks at night, I couldn’t stay hungry, and I had no time or energy to workout. I expected her to say she couldn’t help me, but to my surprise, she calmly said I wouldn’t have to change anything unless I wanted to. All she asked was that I be mindful and take small steps, one at a time. I don’t know how to thank her for the small but impactful changes she brought into my life. I still enjoy my tea and my comfort zone, but slowly and carefully, she introduced a plan that didn’t disrupt my life yet changed me. A little mindfulness while eating, a short walk, a small “no” to unnecessary snacks — tiny steps that added up. I’m still lazy, but I’ve lost over 10 kg! From the guy who wouldn’t leave the bed or sofa, I now do 30–40 minutes of workout 3–4 days a week and actually enjoy it. I even feel irritated if I miss it. Sometimes you may not believe in yourself, but someone else’s belief and consistent effort can make all the difference. Jasmine’s support in my lifestyle transformation (not just weight loss) has been phenomenal. She checked in daily, giving me a sense of responsibility toward my body and small habits that make a big impact.
